The screen displays everything from messages to games to videos and images. The pictures and videos on the screen are bright and clear. Brightness of the screen is adjustable so that the displays are soothing to the eyes. The display screen has a comfortable size of 2 inch that makes viewing of pictures and videos fun! The user also has the option of customizing the display screen with colourful wall papers and screen savers. Capture memories Let the music play… The integrated music player in the W850iR features the latest version of Sony’s walkman player software. The music player supports MP3 and AAC file formats. You can manage music by artist name, track name or playlist. While the song is being played on the phone you can either decide to display album art or graphic visualizations on the TFT screen! The music player settings include album/song shuffle and loop, an equalizer and stereo widening. An integrated FM radio comes with the capacity to hold 20 preset radio stations. The TrackID identifies the track being played on the music player or the FM radio and relays the information to the phone. If you want to create your personal ringtones, the MusicDJ application lets you compose your personal tunes! 
Messaging features Messaging features include the popular SMS, EMS, MMS and e-mails. For text only messages, one can use the SMS option. EMS lets you send sound clips and graphics along with simple text messages. For video messages, use the MMS option or you can also send them to an e-mail address. Storage The built-in memory of the W850iR is 16MB. The user can create more memory space using the Memory Duo Pro support. The memory can be expanded up to 4GB which is enough for storing up to 1,000 songs for the music player to play! With these many songs the music player can match Apple’s iPod nano. Internet Internet can be accessed for various purposes via WAP2.0 and NetFront (HTML) browsers. You can browse selected web pages especially designed for ringtone and wall paper downloads or gain online information on railway and flight schedules. The W850i gives you a pleasant internet experience. Connectivity Connectivity options include Bluetooth, USB and Infrared. The W850iR supports Bluetooth stereo headsets which can be used to listen to music or for a handsfree use of the phone. USB connects you to a PC or a laptop via a cable for data synchronization and Infrared can be used for short range wireless data transfer. 3G enables video calling and offers data speed of up to 384kbps.
